M.S.W. Program - Distance Option
The M.S.W. Program-Distance Option delivers onsite instruction, technology-based learning, and field practice in students’ local communities through a range of human service organizations. The Distance Option is a three-year program. Students may enroll in the M.S.W. distance program in fall term only. We admit students only once each year. We do not offer deferment of admission, but retain applications for one year, for use in readmission.
The application deadline is January 4, 2010 for those applying to the Ashland and Salem cohorts of the MSW Distance Option. Applicants to the Bend cohort of the MSW Distance Option have an application deadline of March 15, 2010. These deadlines are specific to the distance option.
Application to the M.S.W. program is a two step process. Applicants will need to complete the School of Social Work M.S.W.-Distance Option application and the Portland State University application. You will find each application below.
Step 1: Apply to the School of Social Work
- Get Application in PDF Format or use the
- Online Application. This version allows you to save a partially completed application form and complete it later. If you choose this method, download the Instructions, Reference Form, GPA Calculation Worksheet and Checklist, all in PDF format. Please Note: This does not officially submit your application to the School; rather your application must be sent by postal mail with your signature and application materials.
Step 2: Apply to Portland State University
In addition to the application to the School of Social Work, you must apply separately to Portland State University's graduate program. Use the University Graduate Application Form (PDF format). This cannot be completed on the computer or submitted electronically. You must print the application and mail it to the University as instructed on the PSU Graduate Application form.
