All M.S.W. Distance Option students complete their M.S.W. degree in three years. Students take two classes each term in the first year of the program. First-year classes are held on the PSU Campus in Portland on Fridays and Saturdays. During the second and third years of the program, students take two classes each term, in addition to their field placement. Second and third year classes are held every Friday at each site. Field placement requires two days a week or 16 hours.

We advise distance students to plan ahead for the two years when they will be in field placement two days per week, in addition to attending classes.
